In the book Jack's character is a physicist who runs an experiment that MAY have caused the FlashForward. Everything I have read online says that there are major changes from the book especially for Lloyd's character. And he's not a bad guy, just a scientist doing his job.
However, he also gets together with Joe Fiennes wife according to what I read so maybe they're fighting over that, I don't know.
I can't wait for this show.
