WEDDING SHOWER UPDATE..................

Now we had planned the wedding shower early cause people have lots of graduations and stuff in the late spring and vacations and holidays in the early Summer. It's a good thing we did cause the wedding was moved up 3 months.

Her sisters had booked this American Legion hall cause it has a lovely outside picnic area in addition to the hall. However, it rained most of yesterday so we all spent the day inside.

The food was incredible, in addition to the usual sandwiches and salads, there were all these cuban dishes.

When Isabel thanked everyone at the end, she said that the reason the wedding was moved up 3 months was that she was expecting and thanked everyone for coming at the last moment. (she didn't know that this was the original date for the shower) MIL turned purple -she didn't want her friends from church to know. So all in all an enjoyable day. smirk.

Rice and Beans are a tipical food here im Brazil and i love it.Empanadas here is called"Pastel de Forno" and the flan is called "Pudim" and both are delicious.Great wedding food!

Ha! Enraged MIL. Go, Isabel. :) Too bad it rained yesterday, but it sounds like this part went well for you. I'm glad to see the Cuban dishes there (the empanadas looked spectacularly yummy) after the blather your MIL made about her friends not liking them because they might be too culturally specific. Oh, and god forbid MIL's church ladies should know Isabel is expecting one of her grandchildren. Yes, scandalous. *rolls eyes and turns up the snark*

What's flan? I've never had it, but it looks delicious!

Well since the wedding colors are yellow and purple, I guess it was good she turned purple. smirk.

Flan is a custard that is served with a caramel glaze and it is delicious. YAY for Cuban food.
