Is there any new show that you can recommend?
I've tried Hawaii 5 0 - Alex O'Loughlin yum - the show blah
The Event - didn't grab my attention - 60 year old aliens ho hum

My must watch list is
Big Bang Theory
Boardwalk Empire
True Blood - finished for the season
Fringe
House
Big Love - between seasons
The Choir (on BBC America)
Glee
The Simpsons

Am I missing something special?

I really miss FlashForward and Law and Order. I don't like any of the CSIs.
Let me know what you like.

Hmm, do you want what I'd recommend or what I watch? They're not really the same, lol. Let's see I watch The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, The Glades, How I Met Your Mother, House, Gossip Girl, Castle, Warehouse 13, Ghost Hunters, Terriers, Bones, Fringe, The Office, 30 Rock, Private Practice, Clone Wars and Hellcats or at least that was last week and I still haven't touched the DVR for the new stuff.

I'm still giving Hawaii 5.0 a chance. I love the cast. I have no interest in The Event since it had all the same marketing as Flash Forward.

What I would recommend is The Glades, Bones, Warehouse 13 which still comes off as a Torchwood rip-off but it a lot better than it started out. I Really enjoyed the season finale. Terriers is really good. I've also gotten into repeats of Strangers with Candy and Bored to Death. Plus, I'm excited about Law & order: LA because it has Alfred Molina and Terrence Howard. BBCA is going to have Law & Order: UK next month and PBS is going to have Sherlock Holmes next month, too.

You've seen Being Human, Leverage and Merlin, right?

I did see Warehouse 13 once and enjoyed it - something about Ben Franklin I think. I'll check that out again thanks.

It really hasn't been a spectacular fall season. Even the last season of True Blood was a let down (really, Russell was the best part). I still watch House and Fringe. Fringe is definately my favorite show at the moment. Castle isn't new, but it's good. You should give it a shot if you haven't before. It looks like your standard procedural on the surface, but it's a lot of fun and much better than most. The plots can be predictable sometimes, but that applies to any show if you've watched enough TV. The characters and their relationships are all really solid, and that's what counts with me. I'll admit I started watching for Nathan Fillion, but there really isn't a weak link in the cast.

The Vampire Diaries isn't new either, but what I saw of it last season was surprisingly good. Better than the last season of True Blood, anyway. I was wary because of the dreaded Twilight comparisons, but they really aren't merited. Of course, I missed the last part of the season, and haven't got caught up to the current one yet either, so YMMV.

I keep meaning to catch up on Boardwalk Empire, but I haven't gotten the chance yet. How has it been so far? As for Hawaii 5-O...I'm willing to give it a little time. I agree, the pilot was kind of blah, but I'm shallow. Pretty locations, pretty people...I'll forgive a lot. At least for now. Same goes for Undercovers. The pilot wasn't terribly impressive, but it could have potential. I didn't even give The Event a chance...I'm wary of any show marketing itself as the love child of 24 and Lost.

Edited to add: Just saw Ericadawn's post. I second the recommendations for Being Human, Merlin, and Leverage if you haven't seen them. Leverage is on break right now, but comes back with new episodes in December, I think.

I watched the first season of Merlin and loved it, but I don't think they showed the 2nd season, if they did, I missed it.

Talbot and Russell were my fav part of True Blood - but that series has the best looking men. Eric, Jason, Alcide all very yummy.

I have seen some Leverage, but I think it was on at the same time as another show I watched so I didn't see it again. Gina Bellman from Coupling is on that, right?

I didn't enjoy Being Human, don't know why.

The second season of Merlin aired on the Sci-fi channel. Or Syfy...whatever the hell they're calling it now. The showed it over the summer, but I think its available on dvd now.

Talbot and Russell were the best thing about last season. I agree, they do have the best looking men on that show. Alcide was definately a welcome addition. I hope they give him more to do next season, apart from taking his shirt off (though he's welcome to keep doing that, too. :D ) I had trouble enjoying Jason though, since they gave him such an inane storyline. I was just itching to fastforward through all that crap with Crystal. Which is a pity, because Ryan Kwanten really is one of the best actors on the show. They just didn't give him much to work with. I know the werepanthers are in the books and all, but they handled that whole thing badly. And don't even get me started on what the writers have done to Sam. *scowl*

They idiotically scheduled Leverage at the same time as True Blood this last season. I saw most of the season by catching episodes later On Demand. And yep, Gina Bellman plays Sophie. I still have trouble not thinking of her as Jane, though.

Wow, you watch a lot of TV. LOL You don't happen to want the first season of True Blood on dvd? I bought it and hate it. I have a soft spot in my heart for Two and a Half Men because my Mom loves it and I never miss the Clone Wars, but I don't expect you to be interested in that. :P

Having a baby that is teething again, TV is my main entertainment right now. I've never seen the Clone Wars, I'll check it out.

I liked Two and a Half Men but I think they jumped the shark and I just don't care anymore. Besides the "half" looks pretty grown to me.

I watched the Clone Wars last night and I see why you like it. All the commericals for toys was a bit distracting, but the quality of the show was obvious.

Glad you liked it. I just mute it during all the loud kid commercials, it seems like they were recorded louder than the program. I figured you had to be a really big Star Wars fan to watch a cartoon about it, but yeah, it's very well done, and there's always some larger point about life to grasp.

Is it a serial? Do you feel I missed alot by starting now.? I mean I know who Skywalker and his wife are (she really looks like Natalie Portman) but I don't know the rest of the characters.

How long has it been on? Maybe I can download it somewhere.

Yeah, this is the beginning of the third season. I can't wait for the second season to come out on DVD at the end of October, because I missed most of it. I started watching about half way through the season. I bought the first season on DVD a year ago.

Lucas is a litigious sort, so finding anything of his for free is hard. There are places you can download them, but at $2 a piece, you could the whole season for less. They're not even on You Tube. You can see the last two eps on starwars.com

Watching a bit of British telly at the moment. Law and Order: UK, Merlin and Doctor Who. Haven't really picked my US TV shows for the season yet - well, apart from Dexter. I'm gonna wait and see what looks good, really.

I can't wait to see Law and Order UK. I always loved L&O, especially since they filmed in NYC and I could spot the locations. I adore Dr Who, I can't believe I forgot that one.
That is a definite must see. I wonder when it's coming back.

Glad to talk to you by the way, I've missed you.

My phone ate TWO replies to this that took nearly ten minutes to compose. Argh.

Of American imports I watch, I love How I Met Your Mother sooooooo much. It is definitely a great successor to Friends. Flasforward was a one and only for me; I'll avoid any shows that claim to be the love-child of Lost and 24 because of it. I loved it so much and the network just treated it so badly. *sigh*
Drop Dead Diva is funny and light hearted, with a great lead actress and an excellent supporting cast and witty writing.
And Grey's Anatomy cannot come back quickly enough for me. :-)

Do watch Sherlock if you get the chance, it is made of awesome. Merlin is great fun, too, if BBC America carries it.

Happy watching!

Someone shared Sherlock with me, but I haven't had the chance to watch it yet. I lost interest in Grey's about 2 years ago. I'll check it out again. I never heard of Drop Dead Diva. I do like HIMYM, especially since I had a girl crush on Willow from Buffy and now she's Lily.

I was sorry to hear about your murdering computer. I hope you can work it out, not just for your stories cause I do enjoy just chatting with you. ;)

The Good Wife is excellent. Really it is.
I adore Human Target.
Blye Bloods is potentially very good. I am waiting to watch the second episode tonight.
Chuck is fun.

I also miss Law and Order *sighs*

I wish I could watch Boardwalk Empire (no HBO) alas and alack.

Oh I do like the Good Wife. I loved Mr Big in Sex and the City. I've never seen Human Target and Blue Bloods I will check them out. My fav part of Boardwalk Empire so far are the costumes and the scenery. Not to say that the acting and story isn't good just that I am a sucker for 20's - 30's American fashion.

Human Target got pushed back to premiering in November.
It is good campy fun.
Blue Bloods seems to be leading to something. It has be intrigued enough to stick with it for now.

Oh I completely understand. I love watching a show for story/acting and then re-watching it for the productions values (i.e. Deadwood).
Film and tv have multiple layers it part of the reason they are worth more than one viewing. Just like books are worth re-reading.
